Bathinda, August 11

A case of “sodomy” has come to light with the parents of a student, studying in a private school located at Rampura, demanding the arrest of the accused, a gardener working in the school.

Various organisations — the Maa Boli Satkar Committee and BKU Krantikari Punjab leaders Surjeet Singh Phul, Lakha Sidana and Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj — on Saturday held a joint press conference at the Bathinda Press Club regarding the issue.

They said on July 16, a school gardener took the victim, a LKG student, into a room located in the backyard of the school by luring him to give him some eatable, where he allegedly sodomised him.

Later, the victim felt pain in the stomach.

After reaching home, the victim shared the ordeal with his mother, who immediately took him to the Civil Hospital,Rampura, and later to Adesh Hospital.

The parents went to the school and asked the principal to take action against the gardener, who assured them that strict action would be taken against him.

They are wondering why the Rampura doctor has not sent the medical report to the police station.

Later, Adesh Hospital instead of sending the complete medical report, has sent only an OPD receipt with their opinion written on it to the Rampura city police.

The leaders claimed that following a protest held by them in front of the school, a case had been registered against gardener Ram Lakhan, but the police have not arrested him yet.
