Rs 1.26-cr loan given to farmers at BOI camp

BATHINDA: A loan and recovery camp was organised by Bank of India at its GT Road branch here on Friday.

A loan and recovery camp was organised by Bank of India at its GT Road branch here on Friday. Loans to the tune of Rs 1.26 crore were provided to 38 farmers, SME Entrepreneurs and Mudra loan aspirants.

Bad loans to the tune of Rs 68 lakh were also recovered from six borrowers. In the camp, 62 customers participated from BOI nearby branches Bhullar, Maur Mandi, Muktsar, GT Road Bathinda, Rampura Phul and Jaito.

Bank of India deputy zonal manager Ramesh Chandra Sharma and Bathinda area manager SC Ojha were also present on the occasion.

Ramesh Chandra Sharma said, “BOI is rigorously working for doubling farmers’ income and for that aggressively financing those farmers who are cultivating on small lands on leased lands. The BOI is enhancing limits of farmers for growing third crop including cash crops.”

Ojha said, “Bank of India is going to derive special scheme for kinnow growers of Punjab shortly for increasing the income of the farmers and special focus is given to food processing units in the area also.”
