Upset, BJP Malout block leaders meet

After raising a banner of revolt against the functioning of their district president Rajesh Pathela ‘Gora’ and unhappy with the decision of senior leadership of extending his tenure by one year, the Malout block leadership of the BJP on Friday held a meeting and supported the decision taken by Malout block president Harish Grover of tendering his resignation from the post.

Notably, seven out of total nine block presidents of the BJP in the district have handed over their resignation to the party coordinator for Muktsar district, Mona Jaiswal. Further, she has called a meeting on Saturday in this regard.

Harish Grover said, “I, along with other block presidents, have handed over resignations to our district coordinator. Thus, it was my duty to inform all colleagues. The tenure was otherwise coming to an end in November. They all supported my decision.”

Meanwhile, Sandeep Girdhar, Muktsar block president of the BJP, said, “The OSD to the state chief on Friday called me up and asked to attend the tomorrow’s meeting. We are, however, not aware of the time or place of the meeting yet. If someone calls, we will definitely attend the meeting.”

Notably, Mona Jaiswal had on Thursday said it was party’s internal matter and be solved in a meeting on Saturday at Muktsar.

Gora Pathela, on the other hand, had on Thursday said everything was fine within the party and a majority of block presidents were supporting him.

“This is a party matter and we will discuss the issue with all our leaders in the meeting,” said Gora.
