100 saplings planted

Chandigarh: MC Commissioner KK Yadav on Saturday started a tree plantation drive in Sector 40. Gurbax Rawat, area councillor of Ward No. 10; NP Sharma, Superintending Engineer, B&R; members of the Resident Welfare Association and residents of the area were present on the occasion. Around 100 saplings of shrubs and trees were planted inside and outside the green belt during the drive. TNS

Chandigarh: Devinder Singh Babla, Congress councillor from Ward No. 18, along with residents, planted around 100 saplings of trees, shrubs and medicinal plants during a tree plantation drive in Sector 28-C here. TNS

Vanamahotsava

Mohali: Nearly 250 saplings of various species were planted during a programme organised by the Senior Citizens Group at a park in Phase 7 here.  Chief guest Jatinder Kumar Sharma, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, inaugurated ‘Vanamahotsava’ by planting a sapling. Paramjit Singh Kahlon, councillor of the area, said senior citizens of the locality also planted saplings of various species. The park was also named as ‘Senior Citizen Park’ at the event. TNS
