18-year-old boy hangs self due to ‘bad exam’

AMBALA: An 18-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his home in Ram Kishan Colony, Ambala Cantonment, today.

An 18-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his home in Ram Kishan Colony, Ambala Cantonment, today.

The deceased has been identified as Sahil. He was a student of BSc at Chandigarh. Sahil was alone at home when he took the extreme step.

The incharge, Housing Board police post, said “The family members of the deceased have claimed that Sahil was under stress as he had a bad exam.”

However, it is being said that the boy was reprimanded due to some other reason by the family members.

The body was handed over to the family after postmortem examination.

The police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
