Two gangsters wanted in a murder case managed to give the slip to UP cops who had come here to lay a trap to nab them.
According to information, a team of the UP Police had reached the city, along with another accused in the case, identified as Rohit, to nab the duo.
Around 6.30 pm, the UP cops tried to catch the accused who were riding a Jaguar car. On seeing the police, the accused accelerated the speed of their car but it went out of control and collided with a divider on the Sector 20-21 road near Sanskriti School.
The two accused, however, managed to escape after pushing the cops.
On search of the car, the police recovered a country-made pistol.
Confirming the incident, Sector 20 SHO Dalip Kumar said the UP Police were on a trail to nab the two gangsters in a murder case. The police had brought with them their co-accused, a native of UP, who was arrested in the case.
The SHO said the UP cops, Special Task Force and crime branch of the Panchkula police were interrogating Rohit about the identity of the accused and their possible hideouts.
