Chandigarh: Two persons have been arrested by the police while riding a motorcycle with fake registration number.



Chandigarh: Two persons have been arrested by the police while riding a motorcycle with fake registration number. According to the police, the accused identified as Kamlesh Kumar, a resident of Khuda Lahora village, and Kala, a resident of Nayagaon (Mohali), were arrested from near Mullanpur barrier while riding a motorcycle with fake number. A case has been registered at the Sarangpur police station in this connection and an investigation has been initiated. TNS

Motorcycle set on fire

Chandigarh: An unidentified person set a motorcycle on fire at the Dadu Majra Colony (DMC) during wee hours on Thursday. According to the police, complainant Umesh stated that his motorcycle, which was parked near his house, was set on fire. The Fire Department was informed about the incident following which a fire tender reached the spot and doused the flames. A complaint was also lodged at the Maloya police station following which an investigation was initiated in this connection. TNS

Mobiles stolen from house

Chandigarh: Two mobile phones were stolen from a house in Sector 41. According to the police, unknown person stole the mobile phones from a house in Badheri village, Sector 41. After receiving information about the theft, a case has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. TNS

Doctor jumps into lake, rescued

Chandigarh: A BDS doctor reportedly tried to commit suicide by jumping into Sukhna Lake on Thursday. The victim was rescued and admitted to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. According to the police, the victim was identified as Dr Nisha Puri. She jumped into the lake from stair No. 4 at around 1 pm. People at the lake raised an alarm following which the victim was rescued by one of the visitors. She was immediately rushed to the hospital. The victim’s family was informed about the incident. The police said the victim was out of danger. Sources said doctor was under depression and undergoing treatment at the PGI. A daily diary report (DDR) was lodged at the Sector 3 police station and investigation initiated in this connection. TNS
