Zirakpur: Two unidentified armed persons allegedly robbed two employees of a gas agency of Rs 35,000 near Nabha village here today.

Two unidentified armed persons allegedly robbed two employees of a gas agency of Rs 35,000 near Nabha village here today.

The victims identified as Gurwinder Singh, a resident of Nagla village, and Harsh, a resident of Kishanpura village, had approached the police, following which a case was registered in this regard.

The police said the incident took place around 4.30 pm when the victims were going towards Nabha village to deliver cylinders in the mini truck. The police said two motor-borne miscreants first punctured the vehicle by laying nails on the road and then intercepted it.

One of the accused threatened the victim by brandishing sharp-edged weapon on his neck, while the other forcibly robbed him of Rs 35,000. The accused also took away the keys of the mini truck.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at the Zirakpur police station and started investigation.

“We are trying to retrieve CCTV images so that we can identify the accused,” said a police official. 

Victims were going to deliver cylinders

The police said the incident took place around 4.30 pm when the victims were going towards Nabha village to deliver cylinders in mini truck.
