3 PU shuttlers for world c’ship

CHANDIGARH:Three Panjab University shuttlers will be part of the 12-member Indian Universities team which will be competing in the World University Badminton Championship to be held in Kuala Lumpur from October 15-21.

Three Panjab University shuttlers will be part of the 12-member Indian Universities team which will be competing in the World University Badminton Championship to be held in Kuala Lumpur from October 15-21. 

Six men and an equal number of women shuttlers will form the Indian team. The side will be accompanied by four managers, including Surinder Kumar Mahajan, Panjab University said here on Friday.   

PU shuttlers Kartik Jindal, Lalit Dahiya and Abhishek Saini will be a part of the 12-member Indian team, the university added.  

The other members of the squad include Ajay Nair, Bhaskar Arun and Jayaprakash Eriyattu, all from University of Calicut, Bhavya Rishi (Delhi University), Shenan Christian and Anjali Rawat from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Revati Devasthale (Savitribai Phule Pune University), Vaishnavi Karri (Osmania University, Hyderabad) and Reshma Karthik (Jain University, Bengaluru).

Bhuwan Sethi of Chandigarh University, Rakesh Malik from Panjab University and Pardeep Kumar, Director, Sports, Haryana, will also accompany the team.
