30-year-old labourer found dead in room

AMBALA: A 30-year-old man was found dead in an abandoned room near Hathikhana temple here this morning.

A 30-year-old man was found dead in an abandoned room near Hathikhana temple here this morning. The deceased has been identified as Mohit, a resident of Pooja Vihar.

As per information, he used to work as a labourer and install signboards. He was said to be a drug addict.

There were injury marks on his head and the body. However, the exact cause of death is not known yet.

He reportedly had a dispute with some people a few days ago in which he had sustained injuries. He was at home till 6 pm last evening.

Vijay Kumar, SHO, Ambala Cantonment police station, said: “There were injury marks on his body. We have been told that he had fallen from stairs while installing a signboard. Post-mortem has been conducted. Further action will be taken after we get the autopsy report. The exact cause of the death and details about the injuries will get clear in the report.”

Meanwhile, the police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC.
