4 killed in separate mishaps

A 22-year-old car borne youth and a 38-year-old tractor driver were killed in a road accident on Sirhind road here on intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. 

The police said two other youngsters travelling in the car were critically injured.

The deceased have been identified as Amrinder Singh (22), son of a local journalist, and Baljinder Singh (38), of Jalkheri.

The police said the youths were travelling in an I-20 car which crashed into a tractor. They said Amarinder and tractor driver Baljinder were killed while two other youths identified as Jaskaran Singh and Pavitar Singh were seriously injured. 

SHO Sukhwinder Kaur of Anaj Mandi said as of now the FIR has not been registered. Jaskaran and Pavitar were not in a position to give any statement.

In the second incident, complainant Sukhwinder Singh of Shambhu said his brother Baljinder Singh was travelling along with the accused Lovepreet Singh on his tractor. Sukhwinder said the accused was driving tractor at a high speed because of which his brother fell off the vehicle and died.

In another case, complainant Vijay of Sewak Colony said an unidentified driver hit him while he was on his bicycle near railway crossing 21. As a result, Manmohan Kumar was killed in the accident. The police have registered a case in both the cases under Sections 279  and 304-A of the IPC.
