7 booked for assault

The city police on Sunday booked seven to eight persons, all from Kharar, on the charge of attacking one Manpreet Singh with rods.

The city police on Sunday booked seven to eight persons, all from Kharar, on the charge of attacking one Manpreet Singh with rods.

The identified accused are Preet Cheema, Yug and Sunny Bajwa, while others are yet to be identified.

The complainant told the police that he worked at a private hospital. He said he was on his way back home on his motorcycle when three youths on a two-wheeler rammed into his vehicle, leaving him injured. Thereafter, he went to his hospital for treatment and while he was returning home he was attacked by seven to eight youths with rods. The incident left him seriously injured.

A case has been registered under sections 323, 341, 506, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code.
