8-year-old boy electrocuted

CHANDIGARH: An eight-year-old boy, Chirag, was electrocuted at his house in Sector 45 on Sunday night.



Chandigarh, August 13

An eight-year-old boy, Chirag, was electrocuted at his house in Sector 45 on Sunday night.

According to the police, the incident took place when the victim was playing with his cousins in one of the rooms while his mother and relatives were sitting in another room.

The victim got electrocuted with the wire of a pedestal fan. “The victim came in contact with the wire, a part of which was naked, and fell unconscious,” said a police official.

He was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The police were informed about the incident, who initiated inquest proceedings at the Sector 34 police station. The autopsy was conducted on Monday and the body handed over to the family. — TNS
