Congestion on city roads is increasing day by day. For the past few weeks, traffic cops have been deployed to check motorists from using cycle tracks. Will it not be wise enough to filter all two-wheelers like scooters and bikes on to these tracks, which have been built to decongest the traffic. Rarely can one see any cycle or rickshaw plying on these tracks. Rather all bicycle riders and rickshaw-pullers use the main road resulting in traffic snarls and accidents.

Commuters’ woes never seem to end
Overcrowded buses ferry passengers with no space even to breathe. Why conductors are allowed to let people in when seats are already occupied? I was was travelling on this bus (See pic) from Kurali to Patiala on October 11, 2018. It left me completely exasperated. With such conditions, it is difficult to travel by public trasport vehicles. Increase in private vehicles on roads has had devastating effect on traffic.

Open defecation
Indian cities are still lagging behind on open defecation free status. There are not many toilets in cities as the main focus is on villages. People can be seen defecating in the open and the advertisement campaign Darwaja band toh bimari band doesn’t ring the bells.

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
