Ankur Public School boys, Sacred Heart girls emerge winners

Ankur Public School, Sector 14, and Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, won the boys’ and girls’ titles, respectively, on the concluding day of the 3rd Tribune Trust Football Tournament at The Tribune Model School, here, on Wednesday. 

Boys from Ankur Public School registered a 6-4 win over St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, in the final. 

Pranav scored a brace, while Shivam, Aayush, Ashutosh and Nitin added a goal each to the Ankur Public School tally. 

Hosts Tribune Model School registered a 1-0 win over St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, to claim the third position. Harsh Yadav scored the only goal of the match.

In the girls’ category, Tribune Model School went down fighting to Sacred Heart School. The hosts lost 0-1 in the final. Trisha Gupta scored the winning goal for Sacred Heart School. 

Rhythm scored a brace 

to help Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, finish third. The side beat Ankur Public School 2-0 in 

the playoff.

Harsh and Pushpa of The Tribune Model School were adjudged the Best Players in boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively. 

Tribune trustees Justice SS Sodhi and Gurbachan Jagat, who were the guest of honour for the closing ceremony of the tournament, later awarded the winners.
