Chandigarh, November 30

Students of Strawberry Fields High School practised zealously for the first round of their athletics meet with Classes IX, X, XI and XII. The three-day meet began with a march past by all four school houses followed by a series of sporting events and races.

Students demonstrated the virtue of fitness with smart and energetic moves that combined aerobics, yoga and martial arts.

The zumba brigade showed how versatile and agile their bodies and minds were as they performed one of the most famous dancercise forms. In comfortable tracksuits, they exuded a clean and minimalistic look that matched with the backdrop of the sprawling and well-manicured soccer ground.

The involvement of each and every student made the sporting presentations a delight to watch. The oath-taking was solemn with students committing to abide by the rules of sportsmanship and healthy competition.

School director Atul Khanna said, “Our sports events have always been special. Promoting love for outdoors, at a time when options for playground activity have shrunk, has a therapeutic effect on studies, bodies and minds.”

The next two days will see Classes VII and VIII and Classes V and VI showcasing their sporting feats. — TNS
