Mohali: As many as 30 pairs participated in the second edition of Ravi Memorial Bridge Tournament held at Sebiz Square, Mohali. The tournament was played in two sessions. Rakhi claims 800m silver
Panchkula: Rakhi Sharma won the silver medal in the 800m race of the 35+age category of the 40th National Masters Athletics Championship at Acharya Nagarjuna University stadium in Guntur. The Panchkula-based athlete also won the bronze medal in the 400X4 relay race. Rakhi is trained by coach Arvind.TNS
Half-marathon on Feb 24
Chandigarh:The first edition of the Ropar Half Marathon will be organised on February 24, at Rupnagar. The event will be organised in 21.1km marathon and fun races (5km, 10km). The event will start from Nehru Stadium and will pass through Katli village, Chandpur Dakala, before coming back to the stadium. TNS
Trijal, Rhea win gold in cycling
Chandigarh: Trijal Madan and Rhea Gupta won first position in the boys and girls (U-6) category, respectively, on the concluding day of the Bacha Log Racing Shivalik event. In boys’ category, Hunar Joshi claimed the second position, while Abhinandit Sharma finished third. Aradhya Arora claimed the second position in the girls’ category. In the U-9 category, Rishan Hooda claimed the top spot, followed by Aneesh Garg at second position and Aarav Arora at third. In the boys’ U-12 category, Ajayteshwar, Soham and Ryan Hooda won the top three positions, respectively. Anvi Gupta was the sole winner of the girls’ category. TNS
Sports meet Concludes
Chandigarh: Gurpreet, Anmol and Samarjeet claimed first three positions, respectively, in the 400m race during the Annual Sports Meet of Paragon Public Schoo. In the 200m event, Gursevak, Ranjit and Jassa Singh claimed the top three podium, while in long jump Sahil, Prince and Prabhsimran won the top three positions. In the girls’ 200m, Muskan and Palak were declared joint winners. TNS
