Balkar Singh new P’kula DC

Panchkula: Balkar Singh has been appointed the new Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula. His posting orders are awaited. He will replace DC Mukul Kumar, who will now hold the post of Managing Director,  Haryana State Federation of Cooperative  Sugar Mills Limited. Kumar will continue as the Director (Hospitality); Additional Secretary to the Government  of Haryana; and the Chief Administrator of the Mansa Devi  Shrine Board. TNS

varsity student  ends his life

Kharar: Shantanu Ganguly, a student of Chandigarh University, Ghauran, allegedly committed  suicide in the early hours of Wednesday by jumping from the roof of the flat where he was staying. He hailed from Agra. Kewal Singh, ASI, Kharar City, said he was a student of BSc (IHM) at CU and was staying at the GBM flats on the Kharar-Kurali road. He was mentally upset. OC
