On the eve of the Lok Sabha election results, a confident city BJP has readied its office, engaged dholis and placed an order for 1 quintal of laddoos for celebrations.

Riding high on exit poll predictions and its own assessment, the saffron party today held a meeting to prepare for the D-day. Party leaders and workers will be present at Kamalam, the BJP office in Sector 33, tomorrow when the counting of votes will take place. “An LED will be installed outside Kamalam while another will show the live updates of results inside. We will keep track of every moment. Some news channels will be showing Chandigarh’s updates live,” said a party leader involved in the preparations.

He said, “We are also arranging dholis besides laddoos. Normally, 40 to 50 kg laddoos are ordered. But we will have to distribute around 1 quintal of sweets this time and have placed orders with different shops in the city.”

City BJP president Sanjay Tandon told Chandigarh Tribune, “We held a meeting with polling agents for the counting tomorrow. One-quintal laddoos have been ordered for the celebrations. Vehicles are also being arranged.”

MP Kirron Kher, along with the party president, is expected to reach the party office between 12 noon and 2 pm where they would follow the counting trends. If the party emerges the winner, they are expected to hold a big roadshow in the city to thank people and distribute laddoos among them. Tandon, however, said, “Nothing like roadshow has been planned so far as these things are planned on the spot.”
