City NCC cadets bag 14 prizes at national camp

CHANDIGARH: Cadets from the Chandigarh NCC air squadron have bagged 14 medals in various competitions at a national integration camp (NIC) organised by the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana NCC Directorate at the State Police Academy in Telangana this month.

Cadets from the Chandigarh NCC air squadron have bagged 14 medals in various competitions at a national integration camp (NIC) organised by the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana NCC Directorate at the State Police Academy in Telangana this month.

A total of 12 cadets, including six girls, had attended the 12-day camp. The cadets who won first prizes in different team events are Jasleen Bedi (nati dance, giddha, tug of war), Poonam (group discussion and giddha), Aman Siwach (tug of war), Vinay Kumar (nati dance), Monu Kumar (bhangra, group discussion), Jyoti and Divyanshi (tug of war), Geetanjali (group discussion) and Kajal (group discussion, tug of war).

As many as 650 cadets from all 17 NCC directorates participated in the camp that was aimed at fostering the spirit of national integration and solidarity among cadets cutting across cultural, religious, geographical, environmental and linguistic challenges.

Visits to historic monuments in Hyderabad such as including Charminar, Golconda Fort and Salar Jung Museum as well as various military institutions, including the Air Force Academy, were part of the camp activities.
