City resident arrested with 1 kg of opium

PATIALA:The Rajpura police have recovered 1 kg of opium from a city resident.

The Rajpura police have recovered 1 kg of opium from a city resident.

Police officials said Sukhwinder Singh of Daun Kalan village here was arrested at a check post near the ICL railway crossing on Wednesday when they stopped his vehicle for checking.

The police said they have registered a case against the accused under Sections 18, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and were investigating the matter.
