City timings for bursting crackers

Chandigarh: The bursting of firecrackers and other fireworks in the city will be allowed between 6.30 pm and 9.30 pm on Diwali (November 7). The Administration  issued  an order in this regard today. The order was issued  by  Sachin Rana, District Magistrate, keeping in view noise and air pollution. In the  order, bursting of firecrackers  has been   allowed between 5  pm and 8  pm on Dasehra (October 19) and 6.30 pm and 9.30 pm on Gurpurb (November 23). TNS

Youth dies as mobike skids

Lalru: A 30-year-old youth was killed on the spot after his mobike skidded near Punsar village at Lalru on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Bhinder, a resident of Samgoli village. The incident occurred when Bhinder heading back to his village after dropping a relative at Bijanpur village. The police have initiated inquest proceedings into the matter on a statement of the victim’s brother, Raj Kumar. The body was handed over to the family after an autopsy. OC
