The BJP is a party, which has divided people on religious, society and caste lines and did not appreciate their sentiments after getting votes from them.

Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Anand Sharma stated this while addressing a public rally in favour of party candidate Pradeep Chaudhary at Ishar Nagar, near Pinjore, today.

It was only the Congress, which was concerned about the poor and the common man, said Anand. It was the Congress government, which allotted 100 yards plots to the poor, besides implementing various welfare schemes for the people, he added.

Any political party would not be successful until it worked for the welfare of the people and same was the situation with the BJP, he said. The BJP, which was claiming to win more than 75 seats in the Haryana Assembly, was facing tough contest at the ground level, he added.

The Congress candidate, Pradeep Chaudhary, was a leader, who was in touch with the people at the grassroots level, said Anand while urging the gathering to ensure his win by voting in his favour.

Speaking on the occasion Pradeep Chaudhary criticised the BJP government stating that the party had failed to provide safe drinking water to the people in the constituency. Lashing at the BJP, he said cleanliness in Kalka and Pinjore areas was at the lowest ebb. “The ruling party has promoted drug menace, which has ruined lives of many youngsters,” he added.

The BJP snatched livelihood of hundreds of employees by closing down the HMT factory, he said.

Former Doon MLA Rajkumar Chaudhary, senior Congress leader Vijay Bansal, Sangat Singh Nanda, Rajesh Kona, Ajay Singla, Sushil Garg and Mukesh Sodhi and youth leader Navdeep Sharma were among those present during the rally.

Meanwhile, Chaudhary received a shot in the arm as BJP youth leader Hriday Ram of Priyawala village along with his supporters joined the Congress in the presence of former Doon MLA Ramkumar Chaudhary and young leader Amandeep Chaudhary today. Other BJP leaders from Khadkua, Deraguru, Bariam, Baldev and Sadhu villages also joined the Congress today.
