Cyclist hit by mobike, dies

CHANDIGARH: A 39-year-old cyclist was killed after he was hit by a speeding motorcycle on the road separating Sector 55 and 56.

A 39-year-old cyclist was killed after he was hit by a speeding motorcycle on the road separating Sector 55 and 56.

According to the police, complainant Kailash reported that the cyclist was hit by the motorcycle near the police beat box on the road on Wednesday.

The victim, Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Sector 56, was rushed to the PGI, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police said the motorcycle rider had been identified as Ram Jiwan Yadav, a resident of Mohali.

A case has been registered against him under Sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering the life or personal safety of others) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC . He was arrested and later released on bail.
