DRDO labs hold seminar to promote official language

Chandigarh, December 6

A two-day national scientific and technical seminar to promote the use of the official language in research and development activities, being organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s Chandigarh cluster, began here today.

MP Kirron Kher inaugurated the event. Dr Manjit Singh, Director, Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory, Dr OP Chaurisia, Director, Defence Institute of High Altitude Research, Naresh Kumar, Director, Snow and Avalanche Studies Establishment, and Dr PS Kohli, Director, Regional Centre for Military Airworthiness, were present.

Complimenting DRDO laboratories’ contribution in promoting the use of the official language in its day-to-day activities, Kirron stressed on the importance of increasing the use of the official language in all organisations as it was a common cultural thread that binds the nation.

Several technical sessions were also part of the seminar’s schedule, during which participants from various parts of the country are presenting scientific and technical papers written in the official language. — TNS
