The Patiala police recovered 10 gm of heroin, 2,700 capsules and 108 liquor bottles at several check-points on Friday. In Patran, the police recovered 10 gm of heroin. The suspect has been identified as Shinda Ram, a resident of Bazigar Basti, Patran.
According to information, a police party, led by SHO Darbara Singh, was patrolling at Patran Chowk near the Narwana bypass. On suspicion, the police frisked the man and recovered heroin. The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act.
In the second case, the district police recovered 2,700 capsules during a regular checking in Rajpura. The suspect has been identified as Mohammed Aslam, a resident of Malerkotla in Sangrur. The police said the suspect was nabbed from near a dhabha.
The Patiala police also seized 108 bottles of country-made liquor from various check-points. The suspects have been booked under the Punjab Excise Act. In one such case, the police stop at a check-post near Rauti village of Nabha. On searching the car, the police recovered 48 bottles of liquor with a stamp of Chandigarh.
The police recovered 48 bottles of liquor in the city and 12 bottles from near Jhandi village in Passiana block of the district.
