Ex-VC to get Tata institute excellence award

CHANDIGARH: Prof Arun Kumar Grover, former Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, has been chosen for the Tata Institute of Fundamental Reserach (TIFT) Alumni Association Excellence Award-2018 for his distinguished contribution in the field of science and to the institute.



Ex-VC to get Tata institute excellence award

Chandigarh, October 16

Prof Arun Kumar Grover, former Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, has been chosen for the Tata Institute of Fundamental Reserach (TIFT) Alumni Association Excellence Award-2018 for his distinguished contribution in the field of science and to the institute.

The award will be conferred upon him during the Founders’ Day celebrations at Homi Bhabha auditorium of the TIFR on October 30.

The TIFR is located in Mumbai. Prof Grover retired from the TIFR on December 31, 2016, and his term in the PU ended on July 22. He got his first BRUKER Young Scientist Award for NMR application in physical sciences in 1982; research award for foreign specialists by science and technology agency of the Government of Japan in 1991 and 1993, Homi Bhabha Science and Technology Award of BARC and the Department of Atomic Energy in 1995 and Materials Research Society of India Medal in 1996. — TNS
