Ambala, December 10

A large number of farmers, who had faced losses due to rain and hailstorm in October, marked their resentment before Deputy Commissioner Sharandeep Kaur after they were asked to produce land records to get the compensation.

Sukhbir Singh, a farmer from Khera village, said: “It has been two months, but we are yet to get compensation for our losses. We have been asked to produce land records, but it is a time-consuming process. We have to spend more money to get the records from the Tehsil office.”

The farmers demanded that they should be given compensation without any further delay and any other documentation as the insurance company already had all records.

Deputy Commissioner Sharandeep Kaur assured the farmers that their grievances would be resolved.
