The Pracheen Kala Kendra organised a special programme to pay tribute to the CRPF soldiers who were killed in the Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Germany-based tabla exponent Florian Schiertz teamed up with Hansa Veena exponent Subhasis Bose from Kolkata to cast a spell on audience.
Beginning with 'peshkar', Florian unfolded 'alap'-like elaboration, crisp 'kaidas' with rhythmic variations, complex 'parans', 'gat', 'rela', 'tihais' playing within the frame of the 16-beat cycle of 'teental' with permutations and combinations. He was accompanied by Rakesh Kumar on harmonium.
After the tabla beats, Subhasis opened up with a short 'alap' and 'jorh' of 'raga bageshri'. He then presented two more compositions in 'vilambit' and 'drut teental'.
He concluded the captivating recital with a 'dhun' based on 'raga mishra pahari'. Kendra secretary Sajal Koser and registrar Shobha Koser honoured the artistes.
