Girl alleges rape, youth arrested

The Dera Bassi police on Tuesday arrested a youth for allegedly raping a 18-year-old girl. Accused Anish Kumar, a resident of Panchkula district, had allegedly promised to marry her and clicked her obscene pictures.

The girl told the police that she came in contact with the accused several years ago and he exploited her sexually for the past three year on the pretext of marriage. The girl stated that she was married on June 24 this year and had visited her parents’ house in Dera Bassi on July 31.

Next morning, when she went to a nearby school, the accused allegedly came on a motorcycle and started pressuring her to come along with him. He took her to a palace near Barwala, where he allegedly made physical relations with her. The accused threatened to upload her obscene pictures on social networking sites, if she disclosed the matter to anyone.

Upset over this, the girl narrated the whole incident to the police and lodged a complaint. — OC
