GMHS-42 off to a winning start

Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 42, registered an 8-0 win over Sri Guru Gobind Singh School, Sector 35, on the opening day of the State Sub-Junior Hockey Championship at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here on Tuesday. 

Shalni scored the opening goal for GMHS, Sector 42, in the third minute, while Ankita successfully converted a penalty corner in the sixth minute to make it 2-0 for the side. 

Anjali extended the lead further in the 10th minute. Aarti registered her name on the scoresheet in the 15th minute and Bhawna hit home three minutes later as GMHS, Sector 42, closed the first-half with a 5-0 lead. 

After the break, Bhawna struck again in the 36th minute, while Anjali completed her hat-trick (40th, 58th) to seal a comprehensive 8-0 win for GMHS, Sector 42. 

In the second match, Rock Rovers Club beat Wonder Club 3-0. Sania (3rd), Tamanna (36th) and Sakshi (55th) scored a goal each for Rock Rovers.
