Ambala, February 20

Congress leader Nirmal Singh today accused the BJP government of ignoring the youth of Ambala in providing jobs.

Speaking to mediapersons, the Congress leader said: “The BJP has failed to keep its promise of providing jobs to the youth, especially in Ambala. According to information collected under the RTI Act, as many as 14,222 candidates had got themselves registered with the employment exchange from January 2014 to October 2018 in Ambala. Of them, only 26 candidates have been given jobs during this period.”

“Just before the Jind bypolls, the government had made 18,000 appointments under Group-D in which only 402 candidates from Ambala, 111 from Panchkula and 413 from Yamunanagar managed to get jobs, while candidates belonging to districts like Hisar (2,034), Bhiwani (2,299), Jind (1,659), Mahendergarh (1,428) and Kaithal (1,037) got more jobs. The comparison between the number of successful candidates of these districts gives an impression that there is something fishy,” he said.

The Congress leader said: “There were 33,001 unemployed youth in Ambala by the end of last year. Following unemployment, highly qualified youth had to apply for Group-D jobs and a large number of them also managed to get jobs, which is injustice with Class XII pass candidates.”
