Gritty Gaurav wins title title

CHANDIGARH:Gaurav Kumar registered a 6-4 6-2 win over Harmanjot Singh to win the boys’ U-16 title on the concluding day of the STA-AITA Talent Series (TS-7) Tennis Championship at the Chandigarh Club Complex, Sector 1, here, on Friday.

Chandigarh, October 19 

Gaurav Kumar registered a 6-4 6-2 win over Harmanjot Singh to win the boys’ U-16 title on the concluding day of the STA-AITA Talent Series (TS-7) Tennis Championship at the Chandigarh Club Complex, Sector 1, here, on Friday. 

In the semifinals, Gaurav had dismissed Jagteswar Thind 6-0 6-0, while Harmanjot overcame Avish Verma  6-3 4-6 6-4

The girls’ U-16 title went to Harnoor Sidhu after she packed off Pawandeep Kaur 6-2 6-0 in the final. 

Rijul Bhatia had an easy outing as he drubbed Namish Sharma 6-3 6-1 to claim the boys’ U-14 title. 

Jigyasa Narsinghani capped her impressive run in the tournament with a 6-2 6-1 win over Vanya Arora in the girls’ 14 final.

Jigyasa had tamed Anusha Verma 6-1 6-3 in semifinals.
