Gunpreet's brace helped hosts Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, register a convincing 4-0 win over Kundan International School, Sector 46, in the Pre-Subroto U-17 Cup.
Gunpreet drew the first blood in the 13th minute and Khushi doubled the lead in the 21st minute. Just before the half time, Gunpreet added another to the tally (3-0) in the 25th minute. Dolly scored the fourth in the 39th minute.
In the second match, St Stephen's, Sector 45, girls outplayed Vivek High School, Sector 38, 4-0. Sargun netted the first goal in the eighth minute. Harsimran made it 2-0 in the 23th minute. Virinda converted two penalty kicks to round off the tally 4-0. Government Senior Secondary School, Khuda Lahora, registered a 1-0 win over St Joseph's Senior Secondary School, Sector 44. Boby scored the only goal of the match in the 11thminute.
Chitkara boys win
Chitkara International School, Sector 25, registered a 2-0 win over Vivek High School, Sector 38, in the boys' U-17 category. Digvijay scored the first goal in the seventh minute and Gurtegbir doubled the lead in the 21st minute.
Saupin's School, Sector 32, defeated St Joseph's boys 1-0. Vivek scored the winning goal in the 15thminute.
St. Soldier International School, Sector 28, defeated Kundan International boys 4-0 at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37. Shobhit scored the first goal in the fifth minute, while Kunal doubled the lead in the 10th minute. Karan netted the third goal in the 19th minute. Aryan sealed the win (4-0) with a goal in the 20th minute.
Wuttaichai helped St Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, beat St Joseph's boys 1-0. In the last match of the day, Balraj scored a brace as Government Model High School, Sector 36, beat Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, 4-0. Karandeep scored the first goal in the second minute, followed by two goals by Balraj (4th, 10th min). In the 12th minute, Pritam netted the fourth goal to confirm the win. —TNS
