A man was booked for abetment to suicide after his wife allegedly committed suicide in Ghanaur here. The deceased has been identified as Amanpreet Kaur of Ghanaur.
The police said according to Amanpreet’s brother Gurdas Singh, the victim was married to Sandeep Singh of Ghanaur. He used to beat her repeatedly. Gurdas said she was disturbed over abuse, following which she consumed some poisonous substance on Saturday.
The woman breathed her last at the GMCH-32, Chandigarh. The police have registered a case against Sandeep Singh under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC here. — TNS
