MOHALI: The police have booked three persons for allegedly outraging the modesty of a married woman at Jagatpura here.

The police have booked three persons for allegedly outraging the modesty of a married woman at Jagatpura here.

The accused have been identified as Deepak, Neeraj and Manjit Singh.

In her complaint to the Sohana police station, the woman stated that she, along with her husband, visited the house of her in-laws at Jagatpura. The accused lived in the neighbourhood. She alleged that the accused dragged her in their room and outraged her modesty. Her elderly in-laws rescued her from the accused.

The victim lived with her husband in Hoshiarpur area.

A case under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntary causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC has been registered. No arrest has been made yet. — TNS
