The splendour of Kathak classical dance was brought alive by more than 25 accomplished dance maestroes during the National Kathak Utsav, organised by the Pracheen Kala Kendra and Kathak Kendra, at Tagore theatre here today.
Eminent artistes Kumkum Dhar, Guru Jaikishan Maharaj and Rajendra Gangani mesmerised the audience with their remarkable performances.
The programme got off to a majestic start with a ‘Nandkumar ashtkam’, delineating various ‘avatars’ of Lord Krishna by Guru Kumkum Dhar. Dhar was at her best while presenting a dance drama on the episode of ‘Ahilalay’. Artistes were honoured by SK Monga IAS officer (Retd), Shobha Koser and Sajal Koser, Secretary of the Kendra.
