Khattar to lay stone of 2 projects tomorrow

PANCHKULA: In order to provide basic facilities like sewer system and safe drinking water in 15 villages merged with the Panchkula Municipal Corporation, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will lay the foundation stone of two projects on October 23 under the Central Government-sponsored scheme “Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation” (AMRUT).

In order to provide basic facilities like sewer system and safe drinking water in 15 villages merged with the Panchkula Municipal Corporation, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will lay the foundation stone of two projects on October 23 under the Central Government-sponsored scheme “Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation” (AMRUT).

Stating this to mediapersons here today, local MLA Gian Chand Gupta said the cost of both projects was about Rs 76.61 crore. He said the water supply system would be laid in 15 villages at a cost of Rs 28.50 crore and the project would be completed by December 2019. Similarly, sewerage treatment plants would be set up in 9 villages, including Ramgarh, Billa, Kot, Khangsera, Sukhdarshanpur, Khatoli, Nangal, Saketari, at a cost of Rs 48.11 crore and the deadline for this project was also December 2019.

Gian Chand Gupta said the Haryana Chief Minister would also lay the foundation stone of Kalyan Bhawan building in Sector 2 and the total cost of the project was Rs 5.18 crore. He said the construction of the three-storeyed building would be completed by August 31, 2019. It would benefit the members of the Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes. It would also have facilities like ramp for disabled persons, solar lighting system, centrally air-conditioning system and fire alarm.

Gupta said Khattar would also inaugurate the Director Sports Office building in the Tau Devi Lal Sports complex in Sector 3 which had been built at a cost of Rs 12.90 crore.

He said intermediate pumping stations would also be set up in Kot, Jaloli, Tipra and Binta villages.
