Members of the Panchkula Bar Association here boycotted the court of Civil Judge Junior Division-cum-JMIC for not permitting the advocates and litigants to enter in his court room for about two hours here on Thursday.

Advocate Umesh Kumar Marhour, president, PBA, said when they went to his court to inquire about it, the Civil Judge told them that “Being the presiding officer, he has every right to vacate the court room at any time.”  Marhour said the judge told he would allow the advocates to enter the court room one by one to attend their respective cases. He said the judge also stated that he could disallow any advocate from entering the court room even during the working hours and could deliver any lecture to his staff at any point of time, even in midst of the court working.

Advocate Marhour said similar complaints of misbehaviour by the judge were received and brought to their notice earlier also. He said the statements by the judge, made in presence of other members of the bar, would be taken to the Panchkula Session Division administrative judge so that appropriate action could be taken.
