The Bassi Pathana police have registered a case under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120 B of the IPC against Indira Sahi, secretary general of District Istri Akali Dal and her husband Satwinder Sahi allegedly for getting the registry of a plot in their name by tampering with the revenue records in connivance with council and revenue officials.

As per the FIR number 123, Vijay Kumar, resident of Bassi Pathana, filed a complaint with the SSP that Indira Sahi, political leader, and her husband have grabbed his 237-yard plot by preparing bogus documents in connivance with Municipal Council and Revenue Department officials. He stated that he was running a “karyana” shop. The kidneys of his daughter got damaged, so he donated one of his kidneys to his daughter. He had to close the shop as he was not in position to run it. He said he transferred his plot to his son Pankaj. A few days back they went there to start construction but Indira Sahi objected to it saying that the plot belonged to them and they had registry of the plot.

The SSP marked an inquiry to the SHO, Bassi Pathana, and in his report the SHO mentioned that as per the record of the Municipal Council the plot belonged to Vijay Kumar. Indira Sahi and her husband had tampered with the record in connivance with council and Revenue Department officials. So she had cheated the complainant by getting the registry of his plot in her name. He recommended registration of an FIR. The SSP ordered to register an FIR, but no arrest has been made.

When contacted, Manpreet Kaur Hundal, district president of the Istri Akali Dal, said she was not aware of Indira Sahi’s activities and she would be removed from the Istri Akali Dal.
