Short relief!

Relief for residents at parking lots in the city was a kind of joke last week when the rates were changed twice. The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation had announced to reduce the parking rates soon after it cancelled the contract with the Mumbai-based parking firm. But the relief did not last long as the parking firm challenged the cancellation order of the MC. The firm started levying the increased rates soon after taking over the charge after getting relief from the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Residents blamed the MC for not taking the issue seriously and created the situation in which the rates were reduced for a day only.
