Man booked for selling car on fake papers

PATIALA: The Patiala police have booked a man in Tripuri for cheating after a resident of Ferozepur alleged that the accused took away Rs 2.70 lakh from him on pretext of selling him a car but did not provide the orignal documents for the same.

The Patiala police have booked a man in Tripuri for cheating after a resident of Ferozepur alleged that the accused took away Rs 2.70 lakh from him on pretext of selling him a car but did not provide the orignal documents for the same. The complainant also alleged that the accused later took away the car also.

The accused has been identified as Shammi Kumar, a resident of Pakhowal road in Ludhiana. The police said the complainant stated that accused Shammi Kumar had sold him a car for Rs 2.70 lakh. He said Shammi had given him fake documents and a fake registration certificate (RC) of the vehicle.

Police officials at police station Tripuri said they have booked the accused under Sections 420, 465, 468 and 471 of the IPC. They added investigation into the case is going on.
