Man held with heroin

Chandigarh: The UT police have arrested one person with five grams of heroin. According to the police, the suspect, identified as Vijay, a resident of Dadu Majra Colony, was caught with heroin near the Shahpur light point. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him at the Maloya police station. The police have begun investigation into it. — TNS

Theft at Sec 52 temple

Chandigarh: Thieves reportedly struck at a temple in Sector 52 here on the intervening night of December 2 and 3. According to the police, the complainant, Monu Kumar, a resident of Sector 52, reported that unknown person stole Rs 3,000 in cash and a silver plate from the temple. A case has been registered at the Sector 36 police station. — TNS
