Man sent to one-year jail for stealing motorcycle

Chandigarh, October 23

A local court has awarded one-year imprisonment to a man for stealing a motorcycle. The convict has been identified as Shivam, a resident of Burail. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 500 on the convict.

The matter dates back to April 29, 2017, when the convict was booked. As per the police, complainant Om Parkash, who lives in Dadu Majra, stated that he had parked his two-wheeler in front of his home. When he woke up the next day, he found his motorcycle missing.

He approached the police and got his complaint registered. After investigation, the police arrested Shivam and booked him under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC.  — TNS
