Manisha powers St Joseph’s to victory

Manisha scored a brace as St Joseph’s School, Hisar, beat Stanford School, Sonepat, 2-0 to win the title on the concluding day of the CBSE North Zone (II) U-17 Football Tournament at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, here, on Monday. 

Manisha scored the opening goal in the 12th minute and followed it with another strike in the 34th minute to ensure a comfortable victory for her side.

Pathseeker’s School, Amritsar, overcame Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, 1-0 to claim the third position. 

In the girls’ U-19 final, Hema scored a hat-trick to help Colonel Public School, Gurugram, drub Pathseeker’s School, Amritsar, 4-0. 

Hema put Colonel Public School ahead in the second minute and doubled the lead 12 minutes later. Anita scored in the 26th minute to make it 3-0 for the side.

Hema then completed her hat-trick to stretch the Colonel School’s tally to 4-0.  

PMLSD Public School, Sector 32, finished third after beating St Joseph’s School, Hisar, in the playoff.
