Mohali CBI court peon held with illegal liquor

MOHALI:The Mohali police have arrested a peon of the CBI court here with five boxes of illegal liquor.

The Mohali police have arrested a peon of the CBI court here with five boxes of illegal liquor. The Balongi police have registered a case against Jaspal Singh under the Excise Act after he was arrested from the old tax barrier in Balongi last night.

Beside this, the CIA staff of the Mohali police also recovered 73 boxes of illegal liquor from Kharar and arrested three persons in two separate incidents while one accused managed to flee from the spot. Jaspal, a resident of Kharar, is working as a peon at the CBI court here. The police saw a white car coming from the Chandigarh side at a naka. They intercepted the vehicle. During checking, the police recovered five boxes of illegal liquor, which was allowed for sale in Chandigarh only.

Out of the five, four boxes had whisky bottles while one had beer. Jaspal was arrested after he failed to show any licence or permit for the liquor.
