Patiala, April 18
Motilal Nehru School of Sports (MNSS), Rai, defeated Yadavindra Public School (YPS) by 6 wickets to clinch their first ever All-India IPSC Six-a-Side Cricket boy’s (U-17) tournament on Thursday.
As many as eight teams from leading public schools from the across country participated in the tournament.
YPS won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 40 runs in 5 overs at a loss of 5 wickets.
Alok Kumar scored 20 runs while Sachin Sudhashankar made 16 runs for the MNSS and finished the game in 3.2 overs.
In a match between YPS, Mohali, and Modern School, New Delhi, the latter were all out for 43 runs in 4.1 overs.
YPS, Mohali, won the match easily. Nishi Bhatnagar, Deputy Headmistress, YPS, Patiala, gave away the trophy and medals to the players.
