Mount Carmel School (Sector 47) defeated Saupin's School (Panchkula) by seven runs on the opening day of the St Xavier's Inter-School Cricket League Tournament here today.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Mount Carmel School posted 109 runs in 20 overs. Vinayak (21) and Chitraksh (20) were the main run-scorers for Mount Carmel. Karanveer (2/16) was the lone wicket-taker for the bowling side. In reply, Saupin's lads scored 102/6 in their allotted 20 overs, powered by Shourya (43) and Tanish (12). Ekansh and Chitransh claimed two wickets each for the winners. —TNS
