Muskan, Saniya ease into semis

Muskan Singhal registered a 19-0 19-0 win over Shayna Praveen to enter the girls’ sub-junior semifinals on the opening day of the 28th State Carrom Tournament at St Stephen’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 45, here, on Friday. 

In another quarterfinal match, Saniya drubbed Himani Kumari 14-0 10-0.

In the boys’ junior category, Aditya Gahlawat defeated Abhijeet Singh 17-0 5-0 to make it to the last-four stage, while Aditya Vedehara humbled Yuvraj 5-3 1-2 9-2.

In the men’s singles second round, Sahil Thakur downed Vikas Mathur 24-9 14-10. Umeed Ali came from behind to beat Tasavar Ali 10-23 19-11 16-13, while Mohammad Hassan blanked Gapal Kakkae 25-0 25-0.
