Mystery shrouds woman’s death in Dera Bassi

Mystery shrouds the death of a 26-year-old woman at Mubarikpur village near here.

The deceased has been identified as Pooja Rani, a resident of Mubarikpur village.

The police said Pooja got married to Kamal 5 years ago and the couple had a 4-year-old son from the wedlock. Pooja was not keeping well for the past several months.

On December 5, Kamal had gone out for some work. When he returned home in the afternoon, he found his wife lying and white foam was oozing out from her mouth.

The family members took the victim to the Civil Hospital, Dera Bassi. She was later referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh. However, she breathed her last on way to the hospital.

The police said the exact reason behind the death could only be ascertained after viscera report. Meanwhile, the police have initiated an inquest proceeding into the matter.
